Alsops in Manila
The best part of visiting Manila was watching Tyler just light up. He was SO excited to show me the little places he went to and the streets he walked. He know the good foods to get and the prime places to stop. I especially loved it when he would knock on a door andContinue reading “Alsops in Manila”
Alsops in Coron, Phillippines
We spent our time in Coron on this incredible houseboat anchored in a sapphire blue lagoon. The crystal clear water offered snorkeling almost as good as the Great Barrier Reef. Surrounding the lagoon were jagged limestone cliffs that raked the sky with their dark ridges. We ended up getting upgraded from our tiny bunker roomContinue reading “Alsops in Coron, Phillippines”
Alsops in Cebu, Phillippines
Our time in Cebu was incredible. I had no idea that the Philippines had such beautiful sandy beaches and palm trees like that. Driving along it felt much like I imagine the Polynesian islands to be like. We stayed at a little AirBnB with a back porch right our to the ocean. We pulled inContinue reading “Alsops in Cebu, Phillippines”
Alsops in Malaysia
A layover in Kuala Lumpur took us to the worlds largest walk-in aviary. I absolutely love that kind of thing. We were fascinated to realize that most of the exotic birds we were seeing in this fancy zoo were species we have seen in the wild. It was a small reminder of all the placesContinue reading “Alsops in Malaysia”
Alsops in Bali
We had only one day to spend in Bali, Indonesia—so we made the very most of it. We selected three locations we wanted to hit, hired a driver, and were off! But not before Tyler totally kicked a little food offering tray in the doorway. I was literally going to tell him the story whenContinue reading “Alsops in Bali”
Singapore
The Singapore airport is a tourists destination in itself. They take great pride in providing gardens, entertainment, and opportunities for anyone with a boarding pass. It was tempting to just stay in the airport on our long layover and stroll the orchid gardens and find the giant indoor waterfall. But we also wanted to discoverContinue reading “Singapore”
Phuket, Thailand
Thailand was every bit as exotic and enchanting as the pictures I’ve been drooling over for years. Ornate palaces with golden roofs curving up towards the sky like metallic fire were on every corner. I loved Bangkok for the grand palaces and impressive temples. We started our first day in Thailand off with a visitContinue reading “Phuket, Thailand”
Cambodia
Cambodia was like a walk through an Indiana Jones movie. The ancient ruins of Angkor Wat with their intricate forms overtaken with jungle vines felt like and epic adventure. Entire trees 60 feet tall have grown on top of these ruins with their roots covering entryways and extending down the walls. It truly felt likeContinue reading “Cambodia”
