Bet you’re wondering what’s different about this site. Well guess what, there’s really nothing super unique about us.
I work a 9-5 job…just like you. I have to figure out what to make for dinner and when to buy groceries…just like you. I have to carefully lay down a budget and try to follow it. I worry about the car breaking down. I’m daunted by the idea of being a solid parent and a good wife…just like you.
AND I want to explore… just like you.
I want to have timeless adventures and fill my life with meaningful experiences. I want to go to extreme places and reveal unforgettable stories. I want to LIVE.
Just like you.
We’re the Alsop’s–newly married and still in our twenties. People say
“Don’t have a child until you are absolutely sure you are ready” and “yeah, having a kid will ruin your adventure life.”
I don’t believe them. Welcome to our quest of finding a sustainable lifestyle of travel and exploration. Starting now, we are figuring out strategies for getting out there even when it’s not convenient. Cause guess what: It’s never convenient. We want to take our newborn babies into the woods and help our toddlers through tidepools. We want to find time to help our teenagers experience exotic cultures. We want to get stamps in passports no matter what our budget is like. We want to backpack mountains and snorkel reefs when we’re really too old to have any business doing those things.

I can’t be the only gal out there who wants family AND freedom. Maybe you are hoping you can bring more spice into your family life. Me too! Let’s figure out how.
We already went through learning how to travel while we were single–which was crazy fun. And right now, we are in the phase of travel as a young couple, which is also crazy fun. We’re learning about each other and getting the hang of our travel style. And as we go along, we’ll move in the phase of travel with babies, toddlers, kids, teens, and then as old folks. All of which, I plan to also be crazy fun.
We don’t have it all figured out yet. Just like you. Isn’t that the best part? We can find ways together. So come along for the ride! Let’s figuring out how to explore in ALL phases of life! We’ll learn as we go.
I’d love to hear any advice you might have! Comment on what you have found works–I’d love to try your methods. Welcome to our quest.
